Zenless Zone Zero has over 40 agents in the game, but not every character delivers the level of performance necessary for endgame content and chain attack scenarios such as high-level Shiyu Defense. This tier list ranks every ZZZ agent based on their end-game content performance.
How ZZZ Agents are Ranked
Three core categories are used for ranking Agents: Shiyu Defense and Deadly Assault damage output, team synergy and combo potential in the current meta, and ease of use at S0 and higher Mindscape.
Damage matters, but it's not the only metric, and support characters with additional abilities that enable multiple top-tier teams outrank powerhouses with only one viable team comp. Other factors include clear-time data, benchmarks, and testing from our ZZZ community.

S Tier
These four S-tier agents represent the absolute pinnacle of performance in Zenless Zone Zero, and are essential picks for conquering the most demanding endgame content.
- Miyabi excels as an anomaly specialist, delivering unmatched damage output with remarkable versatility that allows seamless integration into a wide variety of team compositions, making her the single strongest agent in the current meta.
- Astra Yao functions as the ultimate support agent, providing crucial buffs and utility that elevate entire team compositions to unprecedented performance levels across all content types, and is nearly irreplaceable in optimized lineups.
- Ellen Joe delivers outstanding sustained DPS through optimized combos and exceptional scaling, remaining a cornerstone pick for competitive team compositions and one of the most consistently reliable damage dealers in the game.
- Caesar stands as a premier defensive and offensive hybrid, offering unparalleled utility and damage support that makes her indispensable in high-level encounters. Her ability to absorb pressure while simultaneously boosting team output cements her place firmly in this elite tier.
A Tier
A-tier agents are strong, well-rounded picks that perform reliably across most endgame content and slot comfortably into a variety of team compositions.
- Trigger is a powerful damage dealer whose burst potential and synergy with top compositions make her a compelling choice.
- Jane Doe brings aggressive anomaly-focused offense and solid self-sufficiency to any lineup.
- Piper offers consistent damage and useful team utility, fitting naturally into multiple archetypes.
- Rina provides reliable support and buff uptime, enhancing teammates' overall output effectively.
- Lucy rounds out support options with strong healing and team-wide bonuses.
- Seth contributes dependable defensive utility and shielding that keeps teams stable in prolonged fights.
B Tier
B-tier agents are serviceable picks that can contribute meaningfully in the right team compositions, though they generally fall short of the consistency and ceiling offered by higher-tier options.
- Koleda brings sturdy frontline presence and fire-based damage.
- Nekomata offers decent physical DPS with agile gameplay.
- Corin provides steady slash damage in niche setups.
- Von Lycaon contributes reliable ice utility and crowd control.
- Anton delivers electric damage but requires specific team support to shine.
C Tier
C-tier agents struggle to keep pace with the current meta and are generally outclassed by higher-tier alternatives in most endgame scenarios.
- Vivian has situational utility but lacks the consistency needed for demanding content.
- Hugo similarly falls short in overall damage and team contribution, limiting his viability outside of casual play.
D Tier
D-tier agents are significantly outclassed in the current meta and are not recommended for endgame content.
- Billy struggles with low damage output and limited team synergy, making him difficult to justify over virtually any other available agent in competitive scenarios.
ZZZ 2.7 Changes and Beyond
Stun players got a massive upgrade in 2.7 with Nangong Yu, who enables quick assist combos, but most other types, including attack character roles, stayed the same. Build your teams around 2 or 3 S-tiers, filling the slots with A-tiers, and you'll manage most content just fine.
