Patch 3.2 heralded the arrival of Sigrika and a new mechanic while also reshaping Aero's place in the game meta, shifting character rankings across the game's tier lists. Find the best picks among the game's growing Wuthering Waves characters roster and spare yourself the agony of spending your Astrites on the wrong units.
April 2026 WuWa Meta Snapshot
3.2 saw the arrival of the first dedicated Echo Skill DMG character in Sigrika, a single-target damage dealer who hits like a train when paired with Qiuyan. Aero teams shot up the rankings, and Aemeath continues to define Fusion Burst and Tune Rupture comps. Endstate Matrix challenge cycle also redefined the meaning of end-game viability, making it harder to qualify.
How Wuthering Waves Resonators are Ranked
Characters are assessed using five factors: Endstate Matrix and Tower of Adversity raw damage output, team synergy across popular team compositions, ease of building, versatility across different content, and how each resonator fares after the latest balance changes. Both solo carry and team uplift performance are considered.

Tier lists, calculators and guides for Wuthering Waves.
S-Tier: The Best Characters in Wuthering Waves
Character units in this tier list's top tier either define an entire team or can fill multiple roles across various lineups.
- Aemeath remains the best DPS character with her signature weapon, slotting into multiple lineups and excelling in each.
- Shorekeeper is still the best support character in the game, providing crit buffs, healing, and an outro skill that modifies the next teammate's carry damage.
- Cartethyia scales damage based on HP, affording this character unprecedented output.
- Iuno provides Heavy Atk damage, healing, and stamina regen while putting up sub-DPS numbers that rival some legit carry units.
- Mornye buffs all DMG amplification while accelerating Off-tune buildups, making Tune Rupture a viable strategy.
- Augusta brings consistent Electro DPS combined with a buff freeze mechanic.
- Ciaccona boosts Aero with Erosion, along with ample sub-DPS output.
- Sigrika arrived in 3.2 as a character providing Echo Skill DMG across her entire kit, which pairs well with Qiuyan to produce the best in-game synergy.
A-Tier: Capable Performers in the Right Hands
These top tier resonators are all highly capable, only losing out to the superior performance of the higher tier character units in most tier lists. If you find yourself in need of solid 5-star and 4-star characters, consider topping up Lunites to save you weeks of grinding.
- Verina's off-field healing and coordinated attacks make her an excellent support unit, only losing out to Mornye and Shorekeeper.
- Jiyan is a capable Aero hypercarry with AoE that has largely stayed relevant.
- Carlotta has Resonance scaling that dominates Glacio content.
- Camellya has wide area Havoc combos that are highly accessible to any player.
- Sanhua remains among the best sub-DPS units in the game despite being a 4-star unit.
- Zani, Brant, and Cantarella all prove their worth with Spectro frazzle, Fusion buffs, and strong Havoc DMG amplification, respectively.
B-Tier: Solid Roleplayers
These characters rank lower in tier lists due to dated mechanics and stats, though they still work well enough for most content. Jinhsi and Changli are both still performers on the right comps, but newer characters easily outclass them in performance. Xiangli Yao is in the same boat as the highly competent Electro sub-DPS numbers, which lose out to Augusta's stellar consistency.
These character units, including Calcharo, Spectro Rover, Roccia, and Mortefi, all fill their roles well and even perform well enough for the endgame if all you're looking to do is clear them.
C-Tier: Niche Units in Need of Updates
These character units have fallen on hard times due to power creep and a lack of updates based on their performance. They still hold up well for early game content, but you're better off investing resources elsewhere if you have the option to do so. They will work, just not as well as you'd need to clear the end-game as cleanly as you'd like, and may present needless difficulties.
D-Tier: Best Kept Sidelined
These 4-star characters are mostly older free character options that the game seems to have forgotten entirely, with dated kits that barely register in any content. While C-tier characters could still work with highly optimized Echoes, these characters aren't even afforded that path, and you're better off steering clear of them.
Version 3.2 and the Future
Players who invested in Aero and Fusion team comps were highly rewarded in 3.2, and Kuro Games seems intent on establishing Echo Skill DMG for the next game meta. All that said, you can't go wrong with investing your Astrites in any S-tier resonator.
But if you'd rather not waste time grinding and relying on luck, browse the best WuWa accounts on igitems and find the best ones with stacked rosters for any challenge. We'll update this list once 3.3 comes around, so check back then.
